Journal – April 2013

Welcome to my next set of journal entries. This month my mother and I made another trip up to London for Easter, although we didn’t end up doing a great deal, and our plans for moving have taken another step forward. Plus there are some more jokes that were sent to me, and there have been a couple of much less cheerful news stories dominating the headlines. So I hope you find this interesting as always.

Journal – Christmas 2012 (London Holiday)

Mum and I have just had our third trip up to London in quick succession. But whereas the previous 2 brief visits last year had been for my Nan’s funeral, and then a weekend to sort out a few bits and pieces, this latest trip was the chance for us to have a proper Christmas break, which we needed. It included a trip to the theatre to see The Lion King with a couple of my friends, along with various other outings. I’ve also included a few photos and a video that I captured on my mobile phone during the trip. So I hope you enjoy reading about it all!

Journal – November 2012 (Nan’s Death)

Welcome to another set of journal entries. There wasn’t anything to mention in October, but this month we had another family loss with the death of my Nan, resulting in another trip to London, for her funeral and to sort out some bits and pieces. And I do still mention other little things as usual, including DVDs and music I was buying. So I hope you enjoy!

Following on from my post about meeting Jimmy Carr, here’s the rest of my journal from July, along with entries for August and September. There’s one post per month here, but there’s lots to mention in each case, including a little trip to Bristol to meet a software supplier (with a few photos of my hotel room), the excitement of the London Olympics & Paralympics, and the sad loss of a good friend. Welcome back to my journal. I didn’t write many entries during the first half of 2012, which is why I’ve gathered a bunch together here. But each update contains several bits and pieces as usual, including another social weekend in Exeter, continued preparations for our London move, updates on my Nan’s health after hitting her head last year, a few more jokes and DVDs, the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, and several stories in the world of sport that have been memorable for the wrong reasons. Journal – July 2011

Welcome to another set of journal entries. This month I spent a lot of time sorting out all the stuff in the loft, bought some more DVDs and had some work experience students at work, while the big news stories have included the final publication of the scandalous News Of The World, the terror attacks in Norway, and the death of Amy Winehouse. I’ve also received some more jokes (not always clean!) from a couple of friends during the month, so I’ve included those for variety as well. I hope you enjoy!

Time for my next set of journal entries, looking back at another busy period, with plenty of socialising and a barn dance, dealing with the last financial affairs from Dad’s estate, the UK local elections, the death of Osama Bin Laden and various other things. So I hope you enjoy!

Journal – April 2011

Here we go with another set of journal entries. Most of it’s about work this month, as we’ve been busy preparing for the elections, we’ve celebrated a colleague’s retirement (after which I had a bit of an accident on my way home), and some of us went to a big conference and awards dinner (where we got quite merry with all the free drinks!). Beyond all that, Mum and I have continued to sort out our financial affairs since Dad’s passing, we saw some of the coverage of the Royal Wedding, and I’ve mentioned a few other little bits and pieces too. So there’s quite a variety here, I hope you enjoy!

Journal – March 2011

Welcome to another set of journal entries. This has been quite an eventful month, with Mum and I finishing off the legal stuff relating to my Dad’s passing, the devastating earthquake and tsunami in Japan that’s dominated the news, I’ve bought some more DVDs, and I saw Comic Relief on TV, among other things. And then at the end of the month I had a lovely long weekend break in Guernsey with a mate. So I hope you enjoy looking through it all.
