TMI Tag

I saw the “Too Much Information” tag on My Blurred World yesterday, and thought it would be fun to give it a go as well. Feel free to answer the questions yourself as well if you wish. 🙂

1: What are you wearing?

A green t-shirt, dark navy trousers and navy slippers.

2: Ever been in love?

Yes.

3: Ever had a terrible breakup?

Thankfully not. Breakups are never nice, but I had a few girlfriends during my school years, and I’m still friends with all of them today. We were young and inexperienced, so there’s nothing to be upset about these days.

4: How tall are you?

Just over 6ft by an inch or two. I haven’t had my height measured since I was at school though.

5: How much do you weigh?

Not a clue, haven’t weighed myself in years. I could probably shift the little bit of extra fat I have around my tummy, but I don’t consider myself overweight.

6: Any tattoos?

No. Don’t want to get any either.

7: Any piercings?

No, and again I don’t want any.

8: OTP?

I had to look this up as I had no clue what it meant (One True Pairing, under Shipping on Wikipedia, apparently). I’m still not sure I can answer it properly, but I do like seeing characters get together in TV shows when they’re clearly destined to be a partnership, such as Leonard and Penny in The Big Bang Theory. And I enjoyed The Doctor and Rose’s relationship in Doctor Who, as she was the first companion I ever saw – one wonders how she’s getting on with the cloned meta-crisis Doctor she ended up with. Clara was a good companion for the Doctor as well, and her story was very different to that of Rose.

9: Favorite show?

Doctor Who, The Big Bang Theory and The Last Leg are my top 3 at the moment, but I like lots of other shows as well. Once I’ve finished posting about my music collection, I’ll move on to my DVD collection, that’ll give you a good insight into the stuff i like.

10: Favorite bands?

Queen are top of my list, while the rest of my top 10 (in no particular order) would be Status Quo, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Madness, AC/DC, Electric Light Orchestra and ABBA. I’ve been making a lot of posts going through my music collection, so you can see loads of other bands and songs I like there.

11: Something you miss?

There are a few friends I’ve lost touch with from my school days who I miss. And my father passed away a few years ago, so I miss him of course. Or when it comes to celebrities, the comic genius that is Rik Mayall died 2 years ago today, and he’s certainly missed. Same goes for Ronnie Corbett, another great comedian we lost more recently, along with the many music stars we’ve been losing in recent months. In terms of things rather than people, Woolworths springs to mind, as it was a great shop for Pick ‘n’ Mix sweets and other general stuff. I think the recent news about BHS going into administration has made me think about old shops I used to like. Those are the things that come to mind right now.

12: Favorite song?

Picking one is nigh on impossible. But the top 3 that always spring to mind are Bohemian Rhapsody (Queen), Free Bird (Lynyrd Skynyrd) and Stairway To Heaven (Led Zeppelin). All wonderful and epic masterpieces that I never tire of hearing.

13: How old are you?

32

14: Zodiac sign?

Virgo

15: Quality you look for in a partner?

Good sense of humour

16: Favorite quote?

Always remember that you are unique, just like everyone else.

17: Favorite actor?

I don’t particularly follow any actors closely, but David Tennant springs to mind as one I’ve always admired. He was great in Doctor Who, and he has a good sense of humour.

18: Favorite color?

For some reason I always think of blue when someone asks me this, but I don’t have a major preference. And it really depends what the colour is being applied to. I wouldn’t have red walls in my house or a blue television set for instance, but I like both those colours in other contexts. So I like a variety of colours really.

19: Loud music or soft?

I enjoy both. As with the colour question, it depends on circumstances or my mood to an extent. But it is very satisfying to rock out to something loud, I do like that.

20: Where do you go when you’re sad?

I have a couple of close friends I’ve turned to in the past when life has dealt me a bad card. Or if I’m on my own, I can quite easily zone out and listen to some music or enjoy some comedy to help me. But in any case, it’s rare that I get really sad, it has to be something exceptional to make me feel that way (e.g. a friend or family member dying). Generally I’m quite positive.

21: How long does it take you to shower?

10-15 minutes.

22: How long does it take you to get ready in the morning?

I get up an hour before I’m due to leave for work, which gives me time to have a shower, have a shave if I need one, get dressed, have breakfast and watch a bit of the news on TV. But I could probably shower, dress and have breakfast in about half an hour if I really had to rush.

23: Ever been in a physical fight?

No.

24: Turn on?

A friendly smile and attitude, and a good sense of humour.

25: Turn off?

Smoking. And someone who thinks they’re a know-it-all when they’re clearly not.

26: The reason I joined Youtube/blogging?

For fun. I stumbled across other visually impaired Youtubers and bloggers and thought I’d join in a little bit as well. I’m not trying to inspire people or change the world particularly, I just wanted to post about my experiences living with visual impairment, and other things I like in general, and if people like it, that’s great. I’m also hopefully moving to London soon, so I figure getting involved on social media a bit more may help me to discover some useful advice and places and potential new connections.

27: Fears?

Bees and wasps, not helped by the fact that I can’t see them or pinpoint exactly where they are. Getting lost in an unfamiliar place, especially when it’s dark, would be scary as well.

28: Last thing that made you cry?

My dad dying.

29: Last time you said you loved someone?

In terms of family, to my dad before he died. In terms of personal relationships, my last girlfriend in college.

30: Meaning behind your Youtube/blog name?

I felt I had to pick something, and wanted it to be reasonably unique. I latched onto Fashioneyesta‘s method of changing the letter ‘i’ for the word ‘eye’, and tried to get something from that. Well Eye Never was the best I could think of. To me it makes sense, as I’ll never have completely well eyes. They’ll always be a bit dodgy. And if anyone learns something interesting they didn’t know before from reading my stuff, then it earns that interpretation of the name too. 😉

31: Last book you read?

David Jason‘s autobiography (My Life), as an audio book. Very good it is too.

32: The book you’re currently reading?

I’m not reading any books at the moment. I don’t read or listen to many.

33: Last show you watched?

Spooks. I’m currently working my way through all the series on Netflix, having never watched it before. I’m halfway through series 6 at the moment.

34: Last person you talked to?

My mother. Or, when it comes to phone or Skype conversations, then it was my best mate.

35: The relationship between you and the person you last texted?

He’s my best mate.

36: Favorite food?

Chicken. Whether it be roasted, or southern fried, or with sweet and sour sauce, or in a curry, I always enjoy it.

37: Place you want to visit?

USA (e.g. New York, Washington, Florida), New Zealand and Japan are 3 that spring to mind, but there are plenty of others. It’s a big, wide world out there.

38: Last place you were?

At work

39: Do you have a crush?

Yes, there is someone I fancy.

40: Last time you kissed someone?

Aside from general greetings of family members or friends, my last intimate kisses were with the last girlfriend I had in my college days.

41: Last time you were insulted?

I can’t remember. If anyone insults me, it’s usually me, as I have a very self-deprecating sense of humour. I make jokes about my sight quite a bit, for instance, as it sometimes helps put people at ease if they feel a bit awkward talking about it. Once they know I’m comfortable with it and with talking about it, then things usually go pretty well.

42: Favorite flavor of sweet?

Fruit flavoured sweets like pastilles, wine gums, haribos, etc. And I like chocolate of course, especially Belgian chocolate or white chocolate.

43: What instruments do you play?

I don’t play anything these days. I used to play the keyboard a bit as a kid though. And I wish I could play the electric guitar, that’d be pretty cool.

Signet ring. The top is square with rounded corners. The top-right and bottom-left corners have an ornate design. The centre of the ring has an 8-point star etched into it, with a diamond embedded in the middle.44: Favorite piece of jewellery?

A 9-carat gold signet ring with a diamond in the centre, which originally belonged to my grandad. Mum found it around the time of my Nan’s 100th birthday, as it had been given to her to pass on to me one day, so it was the ideal time to do so. I’ve always worn it ever since.

45: Last sport you played?

I’m not very sporty, unless ten-pin bowling  and pool tables count, as I play those occasionally.

46: Last song you sang?

Unless I go to karaoke (which I haven’t done for years), I’m not a singer. If I’ve sung anything to myself recently, I can’t remember what.

47: Favorite chat up line?

I don’t have one. All the ones I’ve seen or heard are equally as cheesy as each other.

48: Have you ever used it?

No. I would never consider using a cheesy chat-up line. I might crack a light-hearted joke if an opportunity presented itself and if I felt it would make a girl laugh, but I wouldn’t use a corny chat-up line to try and look clever. It would be more likely to have the opposite effect.

49: Last time you hung out with anyone?

One of my friends a couple of weekends ago.

50: Who should answer these questions next?

Anyone who wants to, simple as that! Thank you for reading! 🙂
