A section of the large, busy concourse at Waterloo Station, including departure boards, a large Boots store, advertising screens and ticket barriers. And at the very top left of the photo is the iconic clock that hangs from the station ceiling, consisting of 4 clock faces arranged in a cube formation, so the time can be read from all sides. Each clock face is white, with black Roman numerals and hands. A circle that touches the bottom of the numerals encloses the centre of the clock face. Within that inner circle are regular numbers, lined up with each of the Roman numerals, that give the PM equivalent numbers in the 24-hour clock – so 13 for 1pm, 14 for 2pm, etc, up to 23 for 11pm and then 00 for midnight.
