The Theatre Royal Stratford East, a red building with a large white wall above the entrance, on which are banners advertising the current production, called Room by Emma Donoghue. A pedestal with a statue of Joan Littlewood sitting and smiling is in front of the theatre. She ran the famous Theatre Workshop Company at the venue from 1953 to 1979.
