My Favourite Computer Games – Part 1

One of the programmes I’m enjoying on TV at the moment is Dara Ó Briain’s Go 8 Bit, a comedy game show where celebrities compete against each other on a variety of video games, both old and new. It’s great fun, and it’s got me thinking about some of the games I used to enjoy playing when I was younger. So I thought I’d spend a few posts writing about them, to happily wallow in nostalgia for a bit. Feel free to comment if you enjoyed any of the same games as me, or want to talk about any of the titles you loved, in case it reminds me of others that I’ve forgotten.

The Last Leg

Following on from my post about being in the audience for Mock The Week on Tuesday night, I was also lucky enough to have a ticket for Channel 4’s The Last Leg on Friday night as well. Out of both the shows this week, this was the one I was looking forward to the most. So, as with Mock The Week, I wanted to tell you a bit about my experience there, without giving away too many TV secrets.

Mock The Week

This Tuesday I got to be in the audience for the BBC’s Mock The Week, which is recorded at the ITV Studios – go figure! I’ve never been in a TV audience before, so I was looking forward to what I hoped would be an amazing experience. And it was! And it was great to watch it back on BBC2 this evening as well. So I thought I’d tell you a bit about it, without giving away any secrets or spoilers for those who also want to go to the show.

It should be obvious, but I will make it clear that this post isn’t sponsored in any way by anyone involved with the show. Nobody’s asked me to do this, I just wanted to relate my experience.

Springing Into Action

It’s been a couple of months since I last made a post here. So now that Spring is upon us and the weather is improving, I thought I’d do a bit of a catch-up to let you know how things are going, as I have been busy lately. So this is going to be a long mixture of all sorts of things.

Virgin Territory

I’ve been in London for just over a month now, and so far things are going well. As anticipated and hoped, it’s been a much needed and refreshing change of routine, and the last few weeks have been pretty busy as you can imagine. As I result, I’ve got a few posts I want to do on various aspects of the past month, so this is the first one.

Music Haul November 2016

Now that I’ve listed everything in my current music and DVD collections, I can now do smaller posts on my latest purchases every so often, to show you what I’ve been buying And in October and November most years, in the run-up to Christmas, there are always a few new releases that I want to get.

I’ve already posted about the new DVDs I bought in my previous post, so this post is about the music I’ve recently acquired. Most of the music I get now is downloaded, but occasionally I’ll buy a physical set for one reason or another. So here’s the music I’ve got over the past couple of months – by Madness, Status Quo, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Howard Goodall, Derek & The Dominos, The Who, The Rolling Stones, and a little known band called Cherry Suede. Yes, I’ve been treating myself a little bit – but then I haven’t bought this much music for a while. It’s all come along at once!
