Harry Potter Studio Tour Review

Harry Potter has been cropping up with some regularity in my London itinerary over recent months. Back in October I saw The Cursed Child at the theatre, complete with a touch tour on stage and audio description during the show, which was amazing, And shortly after that I did the Tour For Muggles, which was a very enjoyable walking tour around filming locations in London. And now this month I’ve also had a couple of things booked into my diary. For instance, very soon I’m going to the British Library’s History Of Magic exhibition, which will be very interesting.

But last weekend I did something which trumps all of that in the Harry Potter stakes – the Warner Bros Studio Tour – The Making Of Harry Potter. So in this post and video I’m going to tell you all about my experience, including some of my thoughts from an accessibility perspective.

I’ve also been posting photos on my Instagram during the week, and I’ve now uploaded a nmore extensive Facebook album as well. I’ll also be doing a separate haul post about the merchandise I bought, both at the attraction itself and their online store. So I’ve got plenty to get through, and I hope you enjoy looking through it all!

Beauty & The Beast Pantomime

I’ve wasted no time in getting to the theatre this year. Last week I got a surprise call from Bhavini at East London Vision, asking me if I wanted to join a group that was going to see the Beauty & The Beast pantomime at the Queen’s Theatre, Hornchurch. Of course I said yes, and thankfully was able to get the day off work at short notice, so I went along and joined them. There were some people I knew there from my local group of East London Vision, while a few of the others I hadn’t met before as they’re from a different area. So it was a nice mixture of people. And we all had a lovely time. Oh yes we did! 🙂

2017 Review – My First Year In London

As I mentioned in a recent blog post, this Christmas marked my first anniversary of moving to London, and 2017 has been an amazing year.

I said it in that post, but it’s worth saying again – thank you so much to everyone I’ve met and interacted with during the year, whether it be in person or online. By reading, liking and sharing my content, leaving comments, asking questions, sending me private messages and emails, giving me opportunities for guest posts and public talks, and even meeting up in person, you’ve helped to make this year a very special one for me. Especially Fashioneyesta, Aniridia Network UK, Nystagmus Network, East London Vision, South East London Vision, Thinking Bob, VocalEyesRNIB, Scope, Life Of A Blind Girl, My Blurred World, Luke Sam Sowden and All The Stations, but also everyone else that I’ve had any kind of contact with during the year.

Everyone has been very positive and supportive, and your involvement has enabled me to start this new chapter in my life with confidence and comfort, and fun and friendship. And for that I’ll always be very grateful. 2017 will forever be one of the most significant and happy of my life, nothing will take that away. I hope everyone else has had a good 2017 too, and I hope 2018 is a very prosperous and Happy New Year for you!

So I wanted to do an overview post, running through the things I’ve been up to in the busiest year of my life to date. It’ll give you a good sense of how things developed, and will allow you to check out any blog posts or videos you may have missed if you only found me relatively recently. You can also check out a comprehensive list of places I’ve visited on my Out & About Adventure page at any time. I also recommend you look back through my Youtube videos, especially my London videos and disability videos as there’s no way I can list everything here. And there are loads of Instagram photos you can enjoy as well. So I hope you enjoy my little journey down a very busy memory lane!

2017 Review – Entertainment Favourites

As well as having adventures in London, I’ve also been enjoying lots of TV shows, radio programmes, podcasts, films and music this year. And yet I’ve only wrote about some of it. So I wanted to bring that side of things up to date. Then in 2018 I want to start doing monthly favourites posts, like other bloggers do.

I’ve also done a video on this topic as well, although this post will mention a few things that I forgot to mention in that clip too.

Be aware that this generally doesn’t include anything I watched over Christmas (with a couple of notable exceptions), as there’s going to be a separate post about my Christmas favourites from this year. I’ll also be doing a separate post listing the DVDs I’ve bought during the year, as I haven’t done an update on those for ages, so this post won’t mention those either.

So I hope you enjoy looking through this list of what I’ve enjoyed during 2017. Feel free to let me know your favourites too!

Christmas Q&A

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! 🙂

I hope everyone’s having a wonderful time, with all the fun and food and festivities that Christmas brings!

If you’re working to keep services and utilities running, or you’re volunteering to help out those less fortunate e.g. the disabled, elderly, homeless, etc, then thank you so much for your efforts and commitment, as you don’t get as much gratitude as you deserve for it.

And if you’re not having a nice Christmas for whatever reason, then you have my sympathies, and I hope you’re able to find some support or company to help get you through the day. There are lots of options if you need someone to talk to.

For me, this Christmas is hugely significant, as it’s my first proper one as a resident of London. So I wanted to mark it with a couple of special posts.

Yesterday, therefore, I made an extensive post about my Christmas music collection, following the advent calendar music posts I’ve been making on social media this month.

And now today’s post is a Christmas Q&A , all about how I celebrate and enjoy Christmas, and I’ve also made a video to go with it. Everyone reading this is welcome to answer the questions as well, I tag everyone who wants to do it. So I hope you enjoy reading my festive posts, and finding out about how I celebrate Christmas!

Christmas With The Stars

This week I finally went to my first concert since moving to London. I’ve been to a few musicals this year, but not an actual concert. And this was in arguably the most iconic concert venue in London – The Royal Albert Hall. I went there with the family in my youth for a Christmas concert, though I don’t remember it now of course. So going to a Christmas concert there this year felt like the first time really. And it was all for a good cause too.

Matilda The Musical

Recently I went to see Matilda The Musical at The Cambridge Theatre in Seven Dials, including a touch tour and audio description, and it was an amazing experience. So in this post I want to tell you a bit about it.
