Journal – June 2005

February 2021 Introduction:

This is a very busy month to look back at. At the end of May I’d been invited to spend a week with a couple of friends of mine in Exeter, while I was taking a bit of well-earned holiday from work. So that’s where we start off here, and there’s lots to mention about the various ways we enjoyed ourselves. I’ve anonymised my friend’s names and edited out other little details to respect their privacy of course. Then there’s the usual mix of job updates, entertainment and other bits and bobs as well. Journal – March 2005

January 2021 Introduction:

Here’s another set of edited entries from my personal journal. In this month there were updates on my temporary contract at work, and various bits of entertainment news, including a top 100 poll about cartoons, an extensive review of the Red Nose Day telethon, and my initial reaction to the highly anticipated relaunch of a certain sci-fi show. Journal – January-February 2005

January 2021 Introduction:

Welcome to another set of edited highlights from my old journals. I’m combining 2 months together here, as I didn’t write a huge amount for each.

At this time I was in the early stages of a new temporary job with my local council, working in their Printing department. There wasn’t always a lot to say about it, and there are some details I’ve left out for confidentiality, but you’ll still get a good sense of how I was getting on. And as always there’s plenty of entertainment I was enjoying, plus there’s another top 100 list from the TV, about music videos this time. So I hope you enjoy this little look back as always! Journal – November-December 2004

December 2020 Introduction:

Here’s another instalment of edited entries from my old journal, bringing us to the end of 2004. At this point I was doing a work experience placement at my local council, having graduated from university earlier in the year. And I was continuing to enjoy my music and DVD purchases as usual.

Unfortunately, my entries for December were accidentally deleted, and it’s the only posts I’ve ever lost. I think I might have been combining journal files together at the start of 2005 and missed it off by mistake, but I can’t remember for sure. So in its place I just wrote my usual summary of the year, and briefly mentioned the key points for December at the end of it, along with another top 100 list from the month.

That anomaly aside, however, I hope you find these posts interesting!

Journal – August 2004

December 2020 Introduction:

Welcome to the next instalment of posts from my Bolt journal. These were my final set of posts on that old social media site before I left, as it had changed a lot by then and I’d lost interest. The fact I was starting a new chapter in my life probably meant it felt like the right time to move on as well. However, I was able to copy all of the posts on to my computer, and continued to keep a personal journal offline from the following month onwards, so I’ve still got a lot of posts I can share with you yet, though I’ll naturally edit out anything too personal of course.

Unusually for summer, I had rather a lot to write about this month. I got my full list of university results while I was continuing my search for work, Dad fell ill and had to go to hospital (he was fine eventually so don’t panic), we had some work done on the house, the Athens Olympics took place, I celebrated my birthday, and I continued to enjoy more new music and DVD purchases. So this is probably my longest journal post so far, and I hope you enjoy it!

Journal – January 2004

October 2020 Introduction:

We’ve made it to another year in my series of journal posts from the old Bolt social media site. And 2004 was a particularly significant one for me, with the conclusion of my university studies and my subsequent search for a job. But that’s all still to come, as we need to get through the first half of the year before we reach that new chapter in my life.

This month I stayed with a friend at Bournemouth University for a few days, continued my own studies at Exeter University including another exam, got addicted to another video game, and bought a few more DVDs. Plus there’s another top 100 list, for which I take no responsibility if you willingly explore the links and come away with any unwanted earworms. So let’s crack on with it, and I hope you enjoy!
